Emily Tousek '01

Emily K. Tousek ’01 is excited to return to the Chattanooga area! In addition to private lessons at Cadek, Tousek teaches Middle and Upper School Vocal and General Music classes at GPS. 
 
Tousek holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Mercer University, as well as a Master of Music Degree in Choral Conducting. She has studied piano with David Kammerdeiner (Chattanooga, TN) and Dr. Ian Altman (Macon, GA). She has studied voice with Jamie Meadors (London, England), Penny Tullock (Chattanooga, TN), Rowena Renn (Atlanta, GA), Dr. Martha Malone (Macon, GA), and Lorraine DiSimone (New York City, NY). While studying with Lorraine DiSimone, Tousek also completed coursework in vocal pedagogy. 
 
Tousek has taught group piano courses at the high school level for 8 years, and private voice lessons for 15 years. Her voice lesson focus is on healthy, age appropriate technique through a wide variety of literature. Tousek frequently does musical theater audition preparation, with instruction on resume writing, audition technique, and appropriate audition literature. 
 
In addition to her private studio, she has coached one of the only high school Opera Theater programs in the state of Florida for the last three years. Students under her tutelage have gone onto study music, theater, or musical theater at schools such as Pace University (NYC), Carnegie Mellon University (PA), Loyola Marymount University (CA), New York University (NY), and High Point University (NC). Outside of her private studio, Tousek enjoys traveling, attending live performances, and spending time with friends and family.
