The Cadek Conservatory of Music at Girls Preparatory School provides the highest level of musical instruction for students of all ages—from infants through senior adults—in private, group, and ensemble settings.
*Lessons for traditional piano and string instruments begin at six years of age. Lessons for band instruments begin at seven years of age. Voice lessons are available to students beginning in middle school. Adult students of all ages regardless of musical experience are always welcome!
Private Instruction—Suzuki Instruction
• Violin, Viola, Cello, Piano, Guitar, Recorder
*Recommended age of students to begin Suzuki instruction is four to five years old; however, older students are accepted and younger students can be enrolled at the instructor’s discretion.
Suzuki Group Lessons
Research in early childhood music shows that group instruction provides an enjoyable, stress-free environment of basic musical skills while also establishing a sense of group spirit and dynamics that increase motivation. Group lessons are a great addition to weekly private lessons. These classes meet once a month and are for all levels. Group lessons are also a great way for parents to support each other while also helping their children.
Kindermusik, an international program with an integrated curriculum that offers a wide variety of music and movement experiences for newborns to children seven years of age, seeks to nurture a lifelong love of music. All instructors are trained and licensed by Kindermusik International.
Piano Klass Kidz
Piano Klass Kidz is a group piano course for beginning students ages 6-8. Research in early childhood music shows that group instruction provides an enjoyable, stress-free environment of basic musical skills while also establishing a sense of group spirit and dynamics that increase motivation The classes include 45 minutes of weekly instruction in note reading and development of technique and musicality.
