Melody Poke

Melody Poke is a native of Chattanooga and an alum of the Cadek Conservatory of Music. 
 
Throughout her many years of study on violin and piano, she was a member of the Chattanooga Youth Symphony Orchestras, Tennessee All-East/All-State Orchestras, Tennessee Governors’ School for the Arts, and Honor’s Orchestras. After graduating from the Center for Creative Arts as an instrumental music major, she continued her studies and received her Bachelor of Music degree in music education and violin performance and Master of Music degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. 
 
During her time at UTC, Poke was a member of the UTC Symphony, UTC Jazz Band, TMEA All-Collegiate Symphony Orchestra, and multiple small ensembles within the music department. She also taught with the String Project.
 
She has taught with Cadek Conservatory since 2008 and is also a teacher for Hamilton County Schools. Melody has received Suzuki violin training at the Atlanta Suzuki Institute, Memphis Suzuki Institute, and was a scholarship recipient for study at the Los Angeles Suzuki Institute. In addition to her Suzuki training, Melody has also completed all levels of study in the Kodály Method. As a multi-year participant at the Tennessee Arts Academy, Melody is dedicated to lifelong learning and finding ways to provide engaging instruction to students of all ages and skill levels. Along with her busy teaching schedule, Melody is also a professional violinist performing in various groups and venues throughout the Chattanooga region.
