Jessica is very excited to join the Cadek staff! She has been teaching private lessons for the last ten years in the Bellevue, Washington. Jessica has a Bachelor of Music completed at Saint Mary’s College and a Masters in Voice Performance from the University of Washington. Jessica has been studying with Singing Voice Specialist, Dr. Kari Ragan since 2011, focusing on a scientific and practical method to healthy singing pedagogy and voice rehabilitation of injured singers. She has also spent significant time in Italy focusing on Italian aria and art song repertoire under the tutelage of Rosanna Straffi of the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, as well as delving into the character of Susana in Le Nozze di Figaro during a Young Artist program in Verona.
Jessica loves helping students reach “ah-ha” moments in their music learning. She has worked with students as young as 4 and up to 89. Healthy technique plays an integral role in her lessons, as these good habits have a direct effect on the quality of sound and longevity of the musician. Jessica has helped students win first place in state competitions, prepare for various auditions and lead roles in musicals, and also just enjoy the process of music making and growing in this skill. Music is an art that is meant to be shared and all students are encouraged to perform whenever the opportunity arises.
