In high school, she found a new passion in marching band. She played flute and became drum major her junior and senior years.
Ballard studied at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville within the School of Music. During her time as a Vol, she was a member of the concert choir and the prestigious Pride of the Southland Marching Band. She played piccolo for two years and then was selected as the first female drum major in 2005. She completed her bachelor’s degree in music in fall 2008.

Since graduating, Ballad worked for five years within Hamilton County schools, as well as eight years teaching private lessons in piano, voice, flute, violin, and Wunderkeys. She’s excited to spread her love and passion for music with others.
