Mary Record—Piano, Simply Music, Voice

Mary Record, a Chattanooga native, joins the Cadek faculty as a piano and voice instructor. She enjoys teaching piano and voice in exciting, innovative ways to make music enjoyable and accessible for all people. Record uses a multisensory approach to vocal instruction paired with vocal music of interest to students, and she hopes to encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to learn to sing and find enjoyment and creative self-expression through this art form.

Record currently teaches The Simply Music Piano Method along with Simply Music Gateway, a curriculum for students of all ages with special needs. Simply Music provides an alternative way to learn and engage in piano instruction incorporating various styles of music which makes this program an excellent starter for any student seeking a non-traditional approach to learning the piano.

Mary Record holds a bachelor’s degree in vocal music from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, as well as a master’s in voice performance at Austin Peay State University. She’s been a private instructor for many years. In addition to professional experience and background, Record completed coursework for an internship experience and board certification test for music therapists.
